  "Letting Go With Hidden Talents"

One of the many Fund Raising programs at First

Presbyterian has been Mystery Theatre. People from

the congregation try out for parts in plays produced as

a Dinner Theatre spectacular. . The "Who Dunnit"

plays were usually performed at a place in town called,

The Loft.   Meals are prepared  by volunteer cooks and

are served by the play actors in costume. The plays also

let the audience participate by having them try to

discover the perpetrator of the crime. A prize was

awarded for the first correct solution.

There are other times the same group and others have

put on Christmas plays in the Fellowship Hall of the

church. One year there was a huge production of The

Christmas Carol. Dinner was served from the church

kitchen by the actors. Costuming was very authentic.

The young people in the play had as great a time as the

adults. There was piano accompaniment, special lighting

and some surprised attendees as some actors projected

their sometimes scary Cockney, street people

renditions, at certain individuals or groups. Scrooge was

   particularly menacing.
