Check here occasionally for upcoming plays or other dramatic events. "Letting Go With Hidden Talents" One of the many Fund Raising programs at First Presbyterian has been Mystery Theatre. People from the congregation try out for parts in plays produced as a Dinner Theatre spectacular. . The "Who Dunnit" plays were usually performed at a place in town called, The Loft. Meals are prepared by volunteer cooks and are served by the play actors in costume. The plays also let the audience participate by having them try to discover the perpetrator of the crime. A prize was awarded for the first correct solution.
There are other times the same group and others have put on Christmas plays in the Fellowship Hall of the church. One year there was a huge production of The Christmas Carol. Dinner was served from the church kitchen by the actors. Costuming was very authentic. The young people in the play had as great a time as the adults. There was piano accompaniment, special lighting and some surprised attendees as some actors projected their sometimes scary Cockney, street people renditions, at certain individuals or groups. Scrooge was particularly menacing.
